Cartoon Scan November 30th

Recently, We learned to scan photo's and take our own drawings and clean them up after scanning. So I drew a picture of Cartman and scanned him then coloured him in and cleaned up the lines, then used the clone stamp tool to get his colours 100% right.

Cd Cover 8 panel design November 18th

Over the past few weeks we have worked on making spreads, book covers and now a CD cover. All three of these designs require layers, images combined colour themes, text, multi panels and images. This is my second attempt at a CD cover and is inspired by DJ Champion. I used all of the elements listed above.

Self Portrait Makeover October 21st

Last Class, we learned about portraits and how to edit them, like they do for magazines, and posters. We then went out, and shot the image with a grey backdrop. We then edited it using protocols, and then used channel mixer, which is another way to turn an image to gray scale. We also used the layer tool as well as a surface blur to soften and blur out everything, then erased all the features that should be sharp, the reason for this was to put emphasis on the eyes and mouth and hair, to make the photo more dramatic and make everything more soft. I also used the clone stamp tool. The picture above is the end result.

Fall Light October 7th

Yesterday, we went and shot a "fall light" assignment. This assignment was to use the warm and cold fall light in with previous concepts we have used to demonstrate high level final product. In this photo I took into consideration, leading lines and rule of thirds when "shooting" the photo, afterwards I added in the quick mask. In the first photo you will see the leading lines, point of interest, and rule of thirds emphasized. In the second you will not.

Rule of Thirds-October 6th 2010

In this assignment, we went out and shot photographs, after learning about the rule of thirds. This rule states that the main subject or subject's of the picture are not in the center but more towards the side on a set of intersecting lines. The lines are shown here to show the understanding of the concept.

Landscape Enhancement September 23

In this assignment I learned how to enhance a photo, using layers and the dodge and burn tool to emphasize and take a regular photo and make it more dramatic. I used the dodge and burn tool to darken and lighten certain area's of the photo, hence the darkened sky and lightened areas on the ground. Notice the windmills?

Leading Lines September 21st

How Did you use leading lines?

In this assignment I learned how to use lines (emphasized in the red) to draw attention to the main subject (emphasized by the bubble). I used leading lines for exactly this purpose. In this exercise we used the idea of composing composition.

Duotone Protocals Sept 21

How did you use the quick mask mode?

This assignment was an example of using the quick mask mode. The reason why we use the quick mask mode is to help draw attention to the foreground. We did this by softening the background. The quick mask mode helps helps add emphasis on the main subject. We also learned the protocols of photoshop.
